We seek to recruit tenure-track faculty members who share the Center vision and appreciate the new challenges facing biology. These will include scientists who are interested in

• developing new high throughput techniques that will lead to better characterization of biological systems,
• using experimental and computational methods to characterize and model biological systems at multiple scales,
• and applying machine learning methods to biological systems.

We especially seek candidates who are interested in

• integrating approaches to address complex questions related to improved cancer diagnosis and therapy and
• using combined experimental and computational methods to study RNA structure, function and regulation.

Appointments will be made in the Lane Center and in one or more academic departments, as appropriate to the background and interests of the candidate. New faculty members will be expected to both contribute to and benefit from the collaborative spirit that is a hallmark of Carnegie Mellon University and from the opportunities to collaborate with other institutions in the Pittsburgh region.
